In my senior year at Simmons, I was hired within the Gwen Ifill College of Media, Arts, and Humanities as an administrative assistant and graphic designer. My work primarily entailed designing flyers or other promotional displays for events happening at Simmons. I was usually given the copy and the length of one or two shifts (~6 hours) to come up with a concept, execute it, and make any edits that were needed.
Some of the speakers had recently written books with covers that had striking colors or elements (I know, don't judge a book by its cover!), so I used some of those in my designs.
